I had the privilege of joining a group of seven other pastors from Jackson County Baptist Association for a mission trip to El Salvador.  We taught several pastors and their wives through the book of 2 Corinthians.  I was assigned 2 Corinthians 10, 12, and 13.  In addition to our time at the conference, we toured several church plants and preached in different churches.

Each time I spoke, I had to use a translator.  This provided a unique challenge.  However, I am confident that the Lord spoke through us to offer encouragement to the pastors and churches I served.  I was encouraged and challenged by them.  I watched with conviction as families pitched their tents in preparation for the week.  They left the comfort of their homes to spend a few days listening to God's Word taught.  We had four ninety-minute sessions a day, followed by a worship service at night.  They were engaged with the Word throughout the day and even wanted more.

I was able to take some clothes for the children and distribute them.  One of the churches we visited was under construction.  However, they were already meeting at that location in a temporary building.  I have included a couple of pictures from that church.

I hope to go again next year and take Christy.  We would like to have something specifically for the pastors' wives next year.  She and I have benefitted from conferences like this in the past and hope to be able to be an encouragement to others in a similar way.

While we may not have seen any fruit from this trip, I do not doubt that there will be a bountiful harvest.  As we have encouraged these pastors and their churches, they will have a renewed vision and sense of purpose.  May the Kingdom of the Lord grow in El Salvador, Gautier, and throughout the Earth!
